Description

Luna is a little girl with a very ambitious dream: she wants to sail the Seven Seas and be a pirate, while being kind and polite to everybody! She comes from a pirate family, with a pirate dad and three pirate brothers, and she dreams of setting sail and being the captain of the family ship.

All the other pirates think that her kindness and the harsh life of a pirate don’t go well together. Nobody believes that Luna will grow up to be a pirate, but this little girl knows better: you can be brave and kind at the same time, and polite too!
When a fearsome sea monster, the Kraken, attacks the ship and takes her family, Luna has to embark on a scary, dangerous journey to save them. She’ll need to brave the seas, find a mysterious island, and locate a treasure chest with the answer to her problems…or a final test.
She will find out if she has what it takes to be a captain!

Captain Luna is a delightful children’s picture book for any young pirate lover in your life. It’s especially good for little girls who love seafaring stories and pirates, or girls who may have been told they can’t do something because they are girls. This lovingly illustrated picture book will teach a child that they can be anything they want to be if they work hard, that there is no such thing as being “too nice”, and that kindness saves the day! It’s also a great story to remind girls that they can be kind and strong at the same time, and that they don’t have to let go of a part of themselves to be what they want to be.
It’s full of reminders about being polite and nice to everybody, behind a fun seafaring adventure for a brave little girl and her loyal parrot friend.

Molto bello, mio figlio vuole farselo leggere in continuazione! su un argomento molto delicato, molto educativo. spero in futuro di trovare altri prodotti di questo livello!

This book addresses the theme of having the courage to be who are and being comfortable in that identity even though others might feel uncomfortable or feel it necessary to judge. I enjoyed the message it sent because children can receive negativity from many areas so it is great to have this positive message infused into their knowledge base.

Interesting stories many times are not those that are 100 pages long but those with character names that every child will love to call and if possible be named after. ‘The Mermaid who couldn’t swim’ is not only an interesting read but also uses character names every child will gladly remember. Adriana was my favourite.
